Rosendal’s own lounge, music club and mini movie theatre is a most convivial space where locals and visitors appreciate fun, music and great movies. Rules there are not – whatever the crowd feels like, is what the crowd gets.

Black Anvil handgemaakte messe
Handmade knives by master craftsman Simon Streicher. His hunting knives, penknives, biltong, butter and cheese knives are all beautifully crafted using forged steel with wooden, bone or horn hilts, and it is possible to see his studio by prior arrangement.

Farm Waaipoort, just outside Rosendal, is home to an intentional community of permaculture enthusiasts who have pooled their resources and intellectual capital to create a best practice model of a sustainable agro-ecological farm. Just 20km outside Rosendal on the Ficksburg road is the spectacular game farm of Moolmanshoek. Magnificent horse riding trails, and quality accommodation.

Rosendal tennis club
The Rosendal Tennis Club invites all visitors to come and play on Saturday afternoons at 2pm. Farmers and locals play very relaxed, non-competitive tennis on our well-maintained courts. We have a well-stocked bar, and sport events are shown on the big screen inside our rustic clubhouse. Braai facilities are available, and the locals will prove to be an entertaining source of information about the village and its surroundings. New balls are provided on Saturdays but not during the week. Appropriate clothing and shoes must be worn at all times.
